We are Frank and Laura Holmberg owners of a professional racing sled dog kennel that focus’ on races from 50 to 250 miles. We take pride in fielding a team of the best fed, most well conditioned dogs with the best genetics available. This approach and our personal backgrounds have led us to much success. Laura grew up around horses and worked as a kennel technician before becoming a physical therapist assistant. Laura possesses an Associates of Applied Science degree in Physical Therapy, is licensed by the State of Michigan as a Physical Therapist Assistant and has over 15 years of experience. Her experience with animals in both a leisure and professional setting along with her understanding of the body and how it works are major assets to the kennel. In addition the dogs feed off of Laura’s gentle nature and really run for her. Frank grew up in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and if there were a doctorate for romping around in the bush he would have graduated at the top of his class. He did however earn a Bachelors of Science in Parks and Recreation Management and an Associates of Science in Natural Resources Technology. Frank is a Corrections Officer with Michigan Department of Corrections. He has taken part in sports from boxing to bowling. Some of his accomplishments outside of mushing include an arm wrestling championship and a tough man championship. Above all, his time outdoors allows him to be comfortable and at home in the outdoors. This combined with a fierce competitiveness has proved to be a winning combination since 1999.
